BRIEF PROFILE and LANGUAGES (for evangelization):
His conversion began in 1999. As a young man he was an ambitious artist, working on cinematographic sets for movies with big-name actors like Russel Crowe. He did not believe in God, or understand the meaning of his life, when - while wandering the world in search of meaning - he had a providential encounter with some members of our young community while they were begging in Catania. This lit a new hope inside of him, soon to be transformed into a certainty: that Christ offers us the Resurrection and a blessed immortality! In addition to English, he speaks Italian and can communicate in French and Spanish. To read his testimony, click here.

BRIEF PROFILE and LANGUAGES (for evangelization):
His conversion began in 2001. Before coming to faith at 17 years of age, he searched for freedom among the anarchists called "libertari" in France, but he did not find true freedom there. Then, attracted by the life of the Apostles and the first Franciscans, he searched for the right community for three years - until he met the founder of this community, who helped him understand the meaning of true freedom in gradually putting the Word of Jesus into practice (cf. Jn. 8:32). In addition to French, he reads and writes in Italian and English, speaks Spanish and German, and can communicate in Portuguese; intermittently, he is also studying Russian. BRIEF PROFILE and LANGUAGES (for evangelization):
Born and raised in a Baptist home, he believed in God throughout all his life. But he was living in unrepentant sin throughout high school and college. HIs life could be defined during this period as constantly pursuing “true love.” Very gifted in math and science he earned a bachelors in Electrical and Computer Engineering. But as he began to work towards his Masters in electrical engineering he began to question whether this was what would really fulfill him. This led him to seriously consider for the first time what God’s plan was for his life. To discover his calling he accepted a friend's invitation to start praying a daily “holy hour.” Through that, everything changed. He discovered the True Love he had been searching for. In October of 2017, he felt Jesus calling him to become catholic, to “drop his nets”(cf. Mt 4:20) as an engineer and be a full time Missionary with FOCUS (discipleship & bible study ministry with university students). While he was doing this he encountered the friars. Moved by their striving to live the gospel as it is written, he experienced a growing, burning desire to do the same, all for the greater Glory of God and the salvation of the most souls possible! In addition to English, he can communicate in Italian and (poorly) in Spanish.

During this time, he felt drawn to discern religious life, and, not by chance, met some members of the Poor Friars at the SEEK23 conference in St. Louis, MO. After making some shorter visits to the community, and completing his degree in Electrical Engineering, he began his initial six-month discernment experience in August of 2024.

BRIEF PROFILE and LANGUAGES (for evangelization):
Born in 2004, James was raised Catholic and spent his childhood with his seven siblings in Phoenix, Arizona USA. Although faith was important to him, he was more interested in obedience and rules than in a loving relationship with God and charity towards others. He studied for a year and a half at Franciscan University in Ohio at the age of nineteen, making friends with some excellent souls and earning an Associate of Arts in Theology. Although he loved his time at the university, he learned that God had a bigger plan for his life than he had for himself, and showed him that he was “the donkey the Lord needed” (cf. Luke 19:34). He subsequently began to have vocational experiences with the Little Friars in 2024 and felt in his heart the call to be a friar, he just began his six-month experience with the pfsgm in Louisiana.

BRIEF PROFILE and LANGUAGES (for evangelization):
Chase was born in 2004 in Florida, USA and was raised for the first eight years of his life by his grandparents in a Southern Baptist family. It wasn’t until he turned twelve that he completely fell away from the faith and began living a life of dissipation. He spent four years in this way of living until, like the prodigal son, he found himself spiritually starved in a land “dry” of faith. It was through social media that one day he heard the Gospel and he returned to the faith. At eighteen, he entered the Holy Catholic Church and began living his faith by bringing Christ into politics (national and local), participating in local ministries, and faithfully serving at the altar as an altar boy. By God’s divine providence, he found the Little Friars online while at the same time his friend John was also in contact with them. John invited him to attend a discernment retreat that weekend, but Chase was saddened that he couldn’t go. Then, coincidentally, the friars came to his city two weeks later for a men’s retreat that he had already planned to attend. After a few more visits with them, he began his six-month experience in February 2025.

BRIEF PROFILE and LANGUAGES (for evangelization):
Matthew was born in Florida, USA in 2001 in a Christian family of the “Assemblies of God” denomination. Growing up in this family, he learned the love of God and the importance of following God. It was only in 2020, while attending a private Christian school, that he made the decision to be baptized in the “Assemblies Of God” church, but due to the pandemic, the rite was postponed. Taking advantage of the isolation, he began reading the Bible every day and became involved in the music ministry of his church. On Easter Sunday 2021, he was baptized in the “Assemblies Of God” church. In 2022, when his older brother’s entire family joined the Catholic Church, a desire to know the Full Truth was born in him. 4 months later, on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, Matthew decided to become Catholic and entered the Church two weeks after Easter 2023. He met the Little Friars online while they were promoting a “Come and See” retreat and, after 9 months of online discernment with them, he has now begun the 6 month experience with the pfgm.
